why do older men like us younger women so much?

I’m 21 and I like older men but I still prefer guys my own age. But it’s like they think that most young women like older men which is not true. whenever I go out some 40 year old guy tries to flirt with me. I find it annoying why can they just stick to women their own age. 35-50
