Question regarding to asexuality (PLEASE help)?
I ask this because I am questioning whether or not I fit the definition of being an asexual, which is “an individual who does not experience sexual attraction”. I am not sure what does it mean by “attraction”, and how to distinguish attraction from drive. Asexual can have sexual drives, but they don’t have sexual attractions.
See, I have my horny moments and I masturbate (with fantasies involving woman), and when I see a really beautiful sexy woman in life, I have a turn-on, so I definitely have a sexual drive. But does it mean I am sexually attracted to women? Not necessarily, because even though I may fantasize about women, I really don’t like the idea of actually having real sex with them and I will probably resist if they make sexual advances to me. Even though I may have fantasies, I simply don’t like the idea of sexuality and uninterested about sexuality. I also don’t like masturbation (and anything sexual). I don’t understand why people like sex all the time, and found it annoying. My body may get physical sexual sensations and responses, but mentally my mind is really indifferent toward sex.
So…. do I fit the definition of an asexual? Do you agree with me that my sexual feelings are merely sexual drives but not sexual attractions? And, do asexuals have a place in the LGBT community?
THANKS very much! I really appreciate your information.
By the way, I am not gay.
Emma, I did. They haven’t answered my questions yet so I am here to ask what others think.
