Why are men more attracted to women who have cake makeup?

Why are men more attracted to women who wear alot of make and dress like a barbie doll? Whenever I’m with a guy and I dont’ dress up every day like girly girls choose to do, he says that I dont look good and don’t care about my appearance.
I’m not sure why people care so much more about looks than feelings..
