Are there any GOOD places to chat online anymore?

There was once a day when one could get online and chat with real people and have a good time in online chatrooms.
Now everything is infested with bots, idlers, filth and garbage. Is there anywhere to chat for fun that isn’t just filled with guys trying to pick up women or ads for adult/medicinal crap?
