Are tanning beds safe!? How do you lay in them? What lotion do I use?

I am new to the whole indoor tanning buisness!! Haha, so I need some pointers!!
1) are they safe in your opinion?
2) how do you lay.. Back, stomach, side..??
3) what is the best lotion to use? (I have “smile your dark”)
4) how long should I go so I won’t get burnt.. I don’t burn easily and I get REALLY dark in the summer!
5) any other info/ tips/ pointers you wanna give me? Please do!! Thanks
