Do You Think I Went Too Overboard On Sending A Message On An Online Dating Site?

So I recently decided to try online dating, the girls I’ve been with are either confusing, playing games, or just don’t know what they want.
So I sent her a message.
“You look gorgeous. I’d like to chat sometime, do you have any instant messenger?”
Was that too like overboard, creepy, or a little weird?
